The doors were high quality-just like the name says...lol-but I would definitely read up on how to apply the veneer to the sides of the cabs, etc. Hubby didn't do the greatest job, now we need to put trim around where the edges meet. We got natural maple doors, and for the trim we're using stain-grade pine which will save us about 75% in cost. I just sprayed it with gloss top coat. I bought a $4 pine unfinished scroll "applique" too for the apron connecting the cupboards over the sink, you'd never know it isn't maple. Really cool. Remodeling your kitchen Sharry - Cheyenne, WI I never had an island in my kitchen until recently. I just had one put in. It has a black marble counter top and is just stunning. Islands are also great for serving family and guests. Our kitchen is basically two seperate parts. There is the part with the sinks, fridge, freezer and oven and then the island. On the other side is a kitchen table and space to eat. I just let things stay on the island for my family to serve themselves or to bring to the table.
